Day pupils are treated as fully integrated members of the boarding houses and take full part in College life often staying well into the evenings depending on their commitments.

The normal school day is 8.00am to 6.00pm (Monday to Friday) and 8.00am to noon on Saturday. If they wish to, day pupils may stay at the College for their evening meal, followed by prep. Day pupils are expected to fulfil all College and co-curricular commitments (sport, drama, music, CCF etc.)

I was a day pupil in Faulkner's. The idea of boarding was scary at first but I found myself staying almost every other night because there was so much on from the minute pupils wake up right up until bedtime. When I joined the senior House I decided to become a full boarder to get the most out of my experience.

Current Upper Sixth Pupil

Many day pupils become full boarders as they move through the school. Occasional boarding arrangements are possible for day pupils, but only if accommodation is available.

Day pupils are offered central College places and will be allocated to their Senior houses in the spring of Year 8 (parents are welcome to express a preference for a particular boarding house on the Final Entry Form and we will take this into consideration wherever possible).
