Pauline Ingan Jones

Sadly we have to report the death on 23 January of Pauline Ingan Jones, aged 88.

Pauline arrived in Bradfield in 1959 as assistant to Enid Crawford and not long afterwards took over from her as In College Matron, a role she held until her retirement in 1990. Many boys and their parents will have fond memories of her and the deep interest she showed in the well-being of her charges. She was an ever-present supporter on the touchline of School, House and Old Bradfieldian matches, a most loyal attendee of Chapel services, plays and concerts, and participated in numerous school trips, especially Choir and Classics Department Tours.

In retirement she moved to Englefield and continued to show great interest and affection for Bradfield and its former pupils. She will be much missed by the Bradfield community, including the Friends of Bradfield and members of the College Golf Club.

The Funeral Service will be held at West Berkshire Crematorium, Thatcham on Thursday 18 February at noon. No flowers by request, but donations, if desired, to Friends of Bradfield, c/o Bradfield College, Bradfield, Berkshire RG7 6AU.

A Service of Thanksgiving will be held at Bradfield College Chapel on Saturday 8 May at      3 pm. To help with the arrangements please contact the Old Bradfieldian Society if you plan to attend - Tel: 0118 964 4845 obsociety@bradfieldcollege.org.uk
