Shell pupil Saffie (M) has been included in the long list for the Great British Team after becoming the 2017 British Pony Eventing National Champion.
Saffie came through a series of events this season to qualify for the championships, which took place at Brand Hall, Shropshire. She came through a field of 40 competitors to place first on one pony and fourth on another with her performances impressing the national junior selectors.
She now joins 11 other riders on the Team GBR long list and will compete at a final trial next month in the hope of being selected in the squad who will travel to Hungary for the European Championships later this summer.
