Pupils at Bradfield College are celebrating a fantastic set of GCSE results. Following a brilliant set of A level results (the strongest in the College’s recent history), Year 11 pupils have also pulled off a very impressive set of record-breaking results. Almost two thirds of all GCSEs sat at Bradfield College have resulted in the award of a level 7-9 (A*/A equivalent). Furthermore, 40% of grades achieved have resulted in a level 8 or 9 (A* equivalent).

Head, Jeremy Quartermain, commented:

“I would like to congratulate our Year 11 students for their excellent set of results. These results are reflective of an intellectually aspirational dynamic within the year group and a good deal of determination and resilience. We are extraordinarily proud of their achievements and we look forward to welcoming them into the Sixth Form.

Bradfield College’s current success is due to the inspiration, guidance and encouragement provided by a highly accomplished body of teachers. Whilst the overall stats are very pleasing, this is a community that celebrates the human dimension of each grade achieved. We are inspired by those who have struggled with adversity and demonstrated great strength of character along the way.

There are plenty of individual successes and examples of outstanding performances. Thirteen students achieved six or more 9s and nine have achieved a clean sweep of top grades (8/9s).

This tremendous set of results has been accomplished by pupils who are also extremely successful in other aspects of school life, including elite sports and the performing arts. There is a synergy between Bradfield’s extensive co-curricular programme and the ambition exhibited within the academic sphere. The College’s belief that children flourish when they are happily engaged in all aspects of school life is borne out by the strength of these results.

Nationally, the educational landscape has been a little uncertain, but these results ensure that Bradfield College will start the new academic year in high spirits and with renewed ambition.”

Here are just some of our pupils’ reactions this morning:

Katharine C (9999999988) ‘I’m very pleased with my results and extremely appreciative of the support Bradfield has given me throughout the exams.” Her parents added, “Bradfield has provided Katherine with the inspiration, encouragement, and support to develop a strong work ethic, clearly reflected in her achievements. Beyond academic success, the wide range of co-curricular opportunities has contributed to a happy and enriching learning environment. Katharine is now excited to continue her journey at Bradfield in the Sixth Form, and we are deeply grateful to all the staff who have guided and supported her along the way.”

Amelie P (999998887): ‘I am very happy with my GCSE results. I’m extremely grateful for all the encouragement from my teachers and House Mistress. I’m really looking forward starting 6th Form at Bradfield.’

Jemima P (998877665) “I was so shocked when I opened my results this morning – not only did I improve on all my grades from my mocks, but I got six 7-9s (A*-A)! I would like to thank all my teachers, particularly my English teacher who helped me get 9s in both English Language and English Literature. I am truly so happy!”
