England selection for hockey girls

We are delighted to announce that Olivia (M) and Maya (M) have been selected as members of the U18 and U16 England Hockey squads respectively.

During long leave Olivia represented the regional Mercia Lynx team at HiPac (High Performance Assessment Camp) and Maya featured for the Wessex Leopards team who went on to win the England Hockey U16 Futures Cup.

Both girls have been through a stringent training and competition phase which began back in June to reach this stage of the England Hockey Player Pathway. The pair played at their respective competitions in front of the England selectors and over the course of four days their excellent performances were enough to be selected for the National Age Group squads (NAGs).

Olivia and Maya will join the squads for their first training weekend on the 11 and 12 November.
