Handshaking kicks off College year

The tradition of Handshaking at Bradfield is as old as the College.

At the beginning and end of each academic year, the teaching staff line up around the edge of the Greek Theatre and shake each pupils hands as many meet and greet for the first time.

This tradition dates back to 1850 when the then Headmaster shook the hands of the attending 10 boys every evening wishing them well.
