Handshaking kicks off new academic year
The academic year officially commenced with the College old tradition of Handshaking in the Greek Theatre last night where the teaching staff line up around the outside of Greeker to shake the hands of every pupil and wish them well for the coming year.
This tradition dates back to 1850 when the then Headmaster wished the attending 10 boys good night every evening. This year, over 130 teachers shook the hands of more than 800 pupils. That is a lot of handshakes!
