Sixth Formers at Bradfield College have achieved excellent results in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. This year’s average point score of 37 (out of 45) is the equivalent to A* A A at A level and will place Bradfield amongst the top performing schools in the UK.
All IBDP candidates were awarded the diploma. At Higher Level, an impressive 80% of entries achieved the top grades of 6 or 7, equivalent to A and A* at A level. Nearly 70% of all subject entries across Higher and Standard Level were awarded a grade 6 or 7 (global average 29% in 2025).
Ten students (nearly 25% of the IB cohort) achieved at least 40 points which equates to an outstanding A* A* A* A at A level. Top performing students included Yeva, who achieved a flawless 45 out of 45. This result is exceptionally rare with less than 0.5% of candidates globally achieving the maximum score.
The IBDP is an intellectually rigorous curriculum that prepares students extraordinarily well for scholarly success at the top universities in the UK and overseas. Students sit examinations in six subjects (three at higher level and three at standard level) as well as writing an extended research essay and completing an epistemological transdisciplinary course, ‘Theory of Knowledge’, which explores the foundations and structure of knowledge itself.
Bradfield College’s Upper Sixth Formers are holding offers from some of the world’s most prestigious universities including Oxford, Cambridge, St Andrews, McGill, Northeastern, IE Madrid, Leiden, Durham, UCL, Imperial College and Edinburgh. Over 80% of Bradfield’s Sixth Form leavers progress to Russell Group/Top 20 universities, and the academic profile of the school is underpinned by a commitment to pursuing excellence in all areas of College life.
Subject highlights include:
- Spanish Higher Level average grade of 6.6
- Economics Higher Level average grade of 6.3
- Latin Standard Level average grade of 6.5 (global average grade of 4.3)

Individual Stories
- Yeva achieved the maximum 45 points with top scores in all her subjects including Higher Level Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics and will read Biomedical Sciences at Edinburgh. Yeva is from the Ukraine and came to Bradfield for the sixth form as a Dr Gray All Round Scholar. Yeva is an accomplished golfer and during her time at Bradfield she won the Net competition at the Junior European Championships and contributed towards the College golf team reaching the regional finals of the Swifts Foursomes in 2025 and 2026 as well as winning the plate competition at the Micklem Tournament in 2025.
- Jemima, an academic scholar, was awarded 43 points scoring grade 7s in her Higher Level French and Spanish and a 6 in English Literature. She has a place at Durham University to read Modern Languages.
- Torren, a sports scholar, will read Psychology at Bath University having achieved 42 points with grade 7 Higher Level in Economics and Sports, exercise and health science and a grade 6 in Higher Level Psychology.
- Freddy, an academic scholar, achieved 41 points with grade 7s in all his Higher Level subjects of Economics, Maths and Sports, exercise and health science. He also has a place at Durham to read Economics with Management.
- Abby, a sports scholar, was awarded 42 points with grade 7s in her Higher Level Psychology and Chemistry and a 6 in Higher Level Maths, Abby will read Psychology at Edinburgh.
- Head of School, Rio, has a place at St Andrew’s University to study Chemistry with 40 points including grade 7 in Higher Level Maths and grade 6s in Higher Level Chemistry and Physics.
- Anna achieved 41 points with straight 7s in her Higher Levels of English Literature, Film and Psychology and has a place at Durham to read English Literature.
- Harry also achieved 7s in all his Higher Level subjects of English, Global Politics and and History and with a points total of 41 will read International Relations at Durham.
- Emma, who is currently playing cricket for Berkshire amassed 39 points with a 7 in her Higher Level Sports, exercise and health science and 6s in Biology and Geography. She has a place at Loughborough University to study Sports and Exercise Science.
- Tom will read PPE at the University of Warwick after achieving 39 points with a 7 in Higher Level Economics and 6s in Higher Level English and Spanish.
