College appoints Chief Operating Officer

October 1, 2018

I am delighted to announce the appointment of Owen Adams OBE as Bradfield’s Chief Operating Officer. Currently Pro Vice Chancellor Colleges and Student Experience at Durham University, Owen is a graduate of King’s College London and has an MSc in Leadership and Management from the University of Portsmouth.

Owen is an experienced COO and educational leader, having been Commander of the Royal School of Artillery and Executive Director of the United Kingdom Defence Academy, as well as Programme Director of the British Army’s Strategic Human Resource Board amongst other senior roles over the course of a distinguished military career.

Charismatic and dynamic, Owen understands and embraces the ethos and values of Bradfield College and will bring purpose, strategic vision and perspective to the role of COO. He stood out as the favourite candidate in an exceptional field and the members of Council and Bradfield staff he met during the interview process are confident that he is the right person to help lead Bradfield through the next stage of its development.

Owen will be taking up the role in Spring 2019 when he will move here with his wife and family. In the interim, he will work closely on handover with David Barnett, who will remain Acting Bursar before taking on the role of Chief Financial Officer next year.
