Bradfield’s curriculum facilitates interdisciplinary study and critical thinking. It is designed for a generation that needs not just to be literate, numerate and articulate but also to develop digital, global and emotional literacy. We help our pupils secure great grades and we help them develop good habits for lifelong learning.

Lessons are designed to engage natural curiosity and to promote inquiry in preparation for university, the world of work, and meaningful adult lives. Our small classes allow for collaborative and exploratory learning rooted in dialogue between teachers and pupils – the ‘classroom conversation’ which underpins the pursuit of wisdom.

We ask Bradfield pupils to challenge themselves throughout their College careers and to believe that they can always improve on their performance. All pupils are encouraged to think creatively and independently, to reflect on and respond to regular feedback, to review their performance and to set targets in consultation with their teachers.

Independent learning and intellectual engagement are stimulated beyond the classroom through an extensive programme of visiting speakers and many clubs and societies. Entry in public competitions and the pursuit of non-examined and online courses are promoted, and pupils are recognised and rewarded for their initiative and application.
