Little Bee Theatre Composition

November 14, 2017

Our Theatre Studies and Drama pupils have been working hard this term to devise, from scratch, their own piece of theatre for children as part of their A Level courses and last week they had the opportunity to premiere their colourful composition.

The pupils’ adaptation of Edward Gibbs’ Little Bee included original takes on songs and clever costume and set design, which left the audience of 35 children from a local toddler group spellbound. While staying true to the narrative of the source material, our pupils thrived on the challenge of expanding on the educational themes and concepts (food chains, fear, ecosystems) introduced in the book.

Well done to all those involved.
