Following 4 years of development within the auspices of the College, Campus-XR has now been spun off as a separate legal entity in order to be able to harness the commercial opportunities of this amazing product. The College remains a major shareholder in the business with representation on the board and is looking for investors to help take the business on the next stage of its journey.

To enable further development of the innovative Campus-XR technology has recently secured EIS status

The Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) offers numerous benefits for investors, making it an attractive option for those looking to invest in high-growth potential companies. Here are the key advantages:

  1. Income Tax Relief: Investors can claim up to 30% income tax relief on investments of up to £1 million per tax year, reducing their overall tax liability.
  2. Capital Gains Tax Deferral: Investors can defer capital gains tax on the sale of other assets if the gains are reinvested in EIS-qualifying companies. The deferred tax is payable when the EIS shares are disposed of or become disqualified.
  3. Capital Gains Tax Exemption: Any gains realized on the disposal of EIS shares are exempt from capital gains tax, provided the shares are held for at least three years and the company maintains its EIS status.
  4. Loss Relief: If the investment does not perform as expected and a loss is incurred, investors can offset the loss against their income tax or capital gains tax liability, further reducing potential downside risk.
  5. Inheritance Tax Relief: EIS investments can qualify for 100% relief from inheritance tax, provided the shares are held for at least two years and at the time of death.

By offering substantial tax incentives and reducing potential investment risks, the EIS encourages investment in early-stage and high-growth companies, providing investors with the opportunity to support innovative businesses while benefiting financially.
