Bradfield College has always been a place of opportunity, and few embody that spirit more than Hattie Pearson, one of the first female pupils when the College became co-ed, and the first female Bursary Award Holder. Hattie shares how Bradfield shaped her resilience, creativity, and drive—qualities that have propelled her into a dynamic career in radio, presenting and as a DJ, and also helped develop a love of ultra-endurance sports.

“I think the bursary that I got from Bradfield simply gave me access to an education that I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to have—academic learning, yes, but also all the extracurricular opportunities. The sport, the music, the drama—they were invaluable.”

Hattie (K 03-08)

Hattie embraced every experience Bradfield had to offer. She was a music scholar and played the bassoon, was made Captain of Drama and joined the CCF and shooting team. As one of the very first girls to join Bradfield when it became co-ed, that fearless spirit carried her beyond her early performances in Greeker, into a career as a radio presenter, event host, and DJ, and she is now also a brand Ambassador for Nike as an ultra-endurance triathlete.
