Richard Sanford

Richard read Sports Science at the University of Brighton, graduating in 2003. Following university, Richard taught at Slough Grammar School where he held the position of Head of Physical Education and Head of Year. Richard joined Bradfield in 2009 and during this time he has been appointed Head of Physical Education and Head of Social in Faulkners. Richard took over as Housemaster of House-on-the-Hill D in September 2015.

Richard is a keen sportsman, representing Berkshire in both Football and Cricket whilst at school, and captaining the 1st XI cricket team at university. As a result Richard is actively involved in College sport, coaching Junior A teams in both Football and Cricket. In addition to sport, Richard also loves reading and heading to the theatre as often as time allows, with Les Miserables being his personal favourite!

Richard is married to Katie and they have two young children, Isla and Jack.

The ethos of the House is that each boy should aim to make the most of their abilities and to make full use of the opportunities available to them in their time at Bradfield. With a strong commitment towards academic drive and a history of sporting success, the House is full of boys who contribute fully to the life of the College.
